Parish Organizational Structure

Parish Organizational Structure

There are many challenges to implementing the mission of Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish with over 1,800 families and 5,000 + members, with dozens of ministries and limited parish staff and financial resources. Without the tireless dedication of hundreds of volunteers, the day-to-day service to our community would be severely constrained. These logistical challenges certainly test the organizational and communication skills of the clergy, particularly the pastor.

To help the members of our clergy continue their primary focus on the salvation of souls and provide our ministry leaders with a liaison / coordinator to keep the lines of communication flowing, all the key activities of the parish have been divided into five major groupings. The coordinators meet weekly with the pastor to discuss / review parish activities and programs underway or that are in the planning stages. Target dates are established and responsibilities are assigned to the respective group member for implementation or follow-up with the appropriate church / school personnel, parish committee or ministry leader.

This model will also enable ministry leaders and members of the Advisory Committees easier access to information through their coordinator for issues that cannot or should not wait until the next scheduled ministry or Advisory Committee meeting. While this model is in place to assist the clergy, from a practical and canonical standpoint, the pastor continues to remain solely responsible for all activities and functions of the parish.
